THE CHALLENGE
Humanity faces converging existential threats that no nation can solve alone: climate breakdown, ecosystem collapse, pandemic risk, nuclear proliferation, dangerous AI, mass migration, and destabilizing inequality. These challenges are global, yet our governance remains stubbornly national.
The United Nations, designed in 1945 for a different world, lacks the authority, resources, and legitimacy to coordinate the response these threats demand. Security Council vetoes paralyze action. Voluntary agreements go unenforced. The UN's annual budget ($68 Billion) is dwarfed by global military spending ($2.7 Trillion).
For decades, brilliant organizations and academics have developed sophisticated policy solutions for UN reform. What's been missing is the political will to implement them.
OUR SOLUTION
The Human Survival Project builds the public pressure needed to make UN reform politically inevitable. We're creating a global grassroots movement that will compel nations to convene a UN Charter Convention—a complete redesign of global governance for the 21st century.
We focus on what others haven't: mobilizing millions of citizens worldwide to demand change from their governments. When enough people across enough countries make UN reform a political priority, leaders will have no choice but to act.
OUR APPROACH
As we scale from our current volunteer-run foundation, our roadmap includes:
Public Education at Scale — The Human Survival Podcast, multi-language website, and strategic content to make complex global governance accessible to ordinary citizens worldwide.
Grassroots Mobilization — Campus chapters, creative demonstrations, digital campaigns, and local events designed to build momentum across multiple countries simultaneously.
Unprecedented Coalition Building — Uniting constituencies who haven't traditionally collaborated: environmental advocates, technology experts, peace organizations, religious institutions, business leaders and more.
Breakthrough Creative Strategy — Innovative campaigns and cultural interventions designed to cut through the noise. A crowdsourced platform where activists worldwide can share effective tactics. Musicians, artists, and cultural figures helping make this movement impossible to ignore.
WHY THIS WILL SUCCEED
The moment is right. Accelerating crises create conditions where major institutional change becomes possible. The solutions exist. Decades of expert work has produced strong proposals. Digital communications enable global organizing previous generations couldn't imagine. And crucially, millions of people want to help but don't know how. We give them that opportunity.
We're not starting from scratch. The 2024 Summit of the Future showed 186 nations can agree on UN reform. We're building on that momentum.
WHERE WE ARE
Founded in 2021, we've built a volunteer team from around the world. We've launched The Human Survival Podcast, developed comprehensive educational materials, and established our strategic framework. We're now positioned to scale dramatically.
WHAT WE NEED
Financial Support — To hire staff, scale communications, and establish presence in key countries—particularly the five permanent Security Council members.
Strategic Partnerships — Connections to aligned organizations in climate advocacy, peace and security, global health, technology governance, and international development who can amplify our message and coordinate strategies.
Key Individuals — Introductions to influential voices—philanthropists, cultural figures, thought leaders, and public intellectuals—who can contribute resources, lend credibility, or reach audiences we cannot access alone.
THE STAKES
The cost of preventing catastrophe is always less than the cost of recovering from it. Redesigning the United Nations is the most efficient intervention available—a single focal point that addresses multiple existential threats simultaneously. When the UN has real authority, adequate resources, and democratic legitimacy, humanity can finally manage its affairs intentionally rather than stumbling toward disaster.
